25 Years Later and Still at SU...

Any way. I am the Associate Director of Residence Life at SU. I went on to get my Master's in Higher Education at Kent State then came back to work at SU and I have been here for 20 years.
.
I love working with college students and helping them manage college life. I also know all of the "b.s." they can pull since I did much of it myself. Of course now I enforce policy instead of breaking it. Go figure!!!

I have two teenage girls (one starting college next year) and the other will be a senior in high school. I met my husband in Ohio and we just celebrated our 20 year anniversary.

. . . I was thinking about the group all last night. I am going to try to find the old photo albums to bring to NYC. I would be interested in having a room to myself, and I am going to check out flights and trains into the city. Don't laugh but I have never stayed in NYC. I will be a total tourist. I also might consider driving, what do you recommend? Also, does anyone bring family??? I am so excited to see everyone. . . . . I think this great that you are doing this. Maybe the group can make a trip to SU for homecoming sometime too. Thank you Todd! . . . . I just got off the phone with Lisa (1st time we have talked in 20+ years. I am trying to get her to come to nyc. I hope she will. It was great talking to her! . . . . So can I send you back messages on facebook or will everybody see my comments and know we are talking? . . . . Robin

Here's the KLG snap shot"...hope it suffices. Left SU, did the obligatory travel and got moving on the big career game. Realized Day-1 in Corporate America that I needed to get out. Got them to pay for a finance MBA at NYU while I fed my hunger to escape. After 7 years in that game and a stint as the marketing guy in a First Boston private equity gig, I left that stuff forever. Started a Sports and Entertainment Marketing company which I ran from '91 to '06 and then sold to employees. I got married in '91, and got divorced in '05. My greatest accomplishment to date takes the form of my two kids Ian, aged 12 and Chiara, aged 10. We moved to Italy 2 years ago (having had a foothold in Central Italy since '03) and have been busy with this new phase of life, career and fatherhood. Life here is completely different than the stateside rhythm...nice pace, human scale, great quality. Right now my work centers around the purchase and restoration of ruined old stone farmhouses and little groups of buildings that are marketed to ex-pats from places as far-flung as Dubai, Australia and Brooklyn looking for a piece of La Dolce Vita. My interests (sounds a lot like the Miss America Pageant) are origami, quilting, world peace, uhm actually, I like to eat, hang with my kids, travel, drink wine in the piazza, do long distance bike rides and go trekking. I basically try to enjoy living and I will continue to make the effort for as long as I am able. I have not been back to SU since 1984 and don't feel any great connection to the place...just the people. Kudos to Todd for giving us back this great time in our lives. While I will miss the soiree in NYC, Todd will serve notice that the door in Italy is "Sempre Aperto"...that is, always open...Tanti Auguri ai Bravi di Sadler-2!!.KLG Note that I believe the Swamp was room 228, fittingly directly across from the toilets anKoom I had in Year-2 that Barnum inhabited in Year-1...

Behind Every Good Man....

On Dec 11th, Kate and I went to the hospital and threw 46 pennies in the fountain and made wishes for Dave and us. Then we toured the Children's Hospital where both Kate and Dave were born, this time the train (hung from the ceiling) was running so we followed it and enjoyed the aquarium and books in the reception area. We then met Dave's sister Kim and her children for dinner. Family and friends are what make up our lives, we continue to hold Dave in our hearts and try to hold those still in our physical world tighter. Thanks again for your efforts on our behalf.
When is the next get together in NYC? I would love to plan to come. Thanks again for all you have been doing, Love, Ruth
